DMV residents celebrate Bike to Work Day
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
Friday is Bike to Work Day in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area, a time for commuters to get some exercise and take the scenic route to work.
ABC7's Kidd O'Shea was out this morning biking from his home to the studio and taking in the sites.
Officials are asking anyone who does take their bike to register so they can keep track of how many people are out on their bikes and make improvements to the area's bike lanes. There are a collection of 83 pit stops across the DMV where bicyclists can get food, drinks and win prizes. The Penn and Brunswick lines of the MARC train have their bike cars running for full-sized, non-folding bikes.
