Department of Defense spending millions on barely used vehicles, report says
Several Department of Defense Agencies have spent upwards of $2 million to manage vehicles that are barely used or in poor condition, the Washington Examiner says.
According to an Inspector General's report obtained by the Examiner, departments including the Navy and Pentagon Force Protection Agency own or lease nearly 800 cars and vehicles that are classified as "nontactical."
In one case, the Examiner says that the DoD spent thousands of dollars on a truck that was only driven 37 miles.
