D.C. United announces Audi Field as official name of new stadium opening in 2018

Washington's professional soccer team D.C. United announced Wednesday it has officially named it's new stadium Audi Field, which is scheduled to open in 2018.

The Southwest Washington stadium seats 20,000 fans and has 31 luxury seats, and includes 500,000 total square feet of mixed-use retail and residential space, according to a company release.

Audi Field will host various community activities, concerts, and sporting and cultural events.

Additionally, the new stadium name follows the team's recent news that Audi of America is its naming partner.
