D.C. police arrested a suspect in the stabbing death of a father of seven and longtime cab driver in the District.
Police arrested 29-year-old Darryl Matthews on Tuesday and charged him with murder two while armed.
He is charged in connection with the July slaying of 60-year-old Hayes Osei Dennis, who was killed outside the Gold Star Cab headquarters in the unit block of Q Street SW, a block from Nationals Park.
Dennis drove a cab for 20 years and still drove on occasion. But four years ago, he was promoted to manager of the repair shop.
The 60-year-old Ghana native leaves behind a wife and seven children, ranging in age from four to 20. Those who knew him say Dennis was an unbelievably friendly and generous man.
