ROCKVILLE, Md. (WJLA) - A Rockville man convicted of hiring a hitman to kill his wife was sentenced to 30 years in prison Monday morning.
Daniel Mendoza, 48, unknowingly told his entire murder-for-hire scheme to an undercover Montgomery County Police officer who asked him if he wanted his estranged wife, Ermosinda Saravia, and her friend, Arturo Gamboa Yangali, shot.
Mendoza was arrested and charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and the attempted murder following his meeting with an undercover officer where he provided specific details on how he wanted the murder to occur. Mendoza was found guilty in March.
