WASHINGTON (WJLA) - Across the District, students on Wednesday honored and remembered the victims of the 9/11 attacks.
Though 4 and 5-years-old at the time of the 9/11 attacks, the friendship Collegiate High School juniors and seniors still remember the tragedy.
Their school was the setting for the city's observance of the day.
Following an assembly, the students packed survival kids for homeless vets, set up stations to send greetings to U.S. personnel in uniform.
At Ketcham Elementary, a plaque in memory. A former student remembers the tragedy.
"Everybody was like sad, it wasn't the same after the 911 happened," says student Myesha Edwards.
At Leckie Elementary School Wednesday, the students remembered student Bernard Brown and teacher Hilda Taylor, both killed when the plane that hit the Pentagon.
