If you practice medicine in the District of Columbia, chances are you're making a pretty nice living. In fact, you're likely among the top earners in the nation's capital, according to the Washington Business Journal.
Surgeons, OB/GYNs, family practices doctors and podiatrists are all among the top 10 highest-paying professions in the District, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
According to the survey, surgeons are, on average, the top earners in Washington, pulling in $242,580 per year. Internists, oral surgeons, OB/GYNs and chief executives round out the top five.
As a group, the report indicates that professional managers make the most on average per year, ringing in at $130,980. The legal field and those in the computer/engineering field rank 2nd and 3rd on the whole.
