WASHINGTON (AP) - The National Memorial Day Parade is set to include a special tribute this year to the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and to the first responders.
The parade in the District of Columbia kicks off at 2 p.m. Monday and runs through 5 p.m.
Special guests include astronaut and Korean War veteran Buzz Aldrin, actor Gary Sinise and "Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak. The guests of honor include Thomas Hudner, a Navy captain who won the Medal of Honor for his actions in the Korean War, and Roger Donlon, a retired Army officer who served in Vietnam and also received the Medal of Honor.
Police say streets around the parade route will be closed and drivers can expect delays and traffic backups.
