D.C. jail inmate suspected of killing self

A D.C. jail inmate was found dead on Monday in a possible suicide, marking what would be the fourth suicide of a jail inmate in the past 10 months.

Mike Johnson, 53, is suspected of hanging himself inside the D.C. jail. Johnson had been in the jail since Dec. 31 and was facing a charge of sexual assault while armed, the Washington Post reports.

The three other cases are the June 29 death of Walter Calloway, 42; Paul Manning, 58, was found dead on June 18; and Michael English, 30.

All inmates were charged with sex crimes except English, who was facing a charge relating to a stabbing. Also, all inmates are suspected of hanging themselves except Manning who cut his throat.
