D.C. Ford's Theater closing 2 days in June

{}WASHINGTON (AP) - The National Park Service says the historic Washington theater where President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated will be closed for a couple days next month.

Ford's Theatre National Historic Site will be closed to the public on the afternoon of June 3 and all day on June 4 and 5.

Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865 while attending a play at the theater. The Petersen House, the house where the president died, is closed for repair until the summer.

The theater is one of Washington's most visited sites.
