(WJLA) - The D.C. City Council will vote Wednesday on a plan to reduce the proposed budget for the district's streetcar project.
Chairman Phil Mendelson has introduced a plan to reduce Mayor Vincent Gray's proposed budget for the streetcar program. Under Mendelson's plan, the money saved would be used on a package of tax cuts for D.C. residents, according to the Washington Post.
The original $400 million revenue for the project was approved last year, and supporters say the program can't launch without that funding.
