FAIRFAX STATION, Va. (WJLA) - A boulder-sized piece of concrete barrier fell off of a truck bed Wednesday morning, blocking traffic along Route 123 near its intersection with Silver Brook Road for much of the morning rush hour.
The barrier landed in the road, blocking portions of the two left lanes. Police and road crews, including a truck-mounted crain, removed the barrier, which Fairfax County police said weighs around 10,000 pounds. Only the right lane of Route 123 was available to drivers while crews worked to remove the barrier, although all lanes have since reopened.
Police said the incident did not result in any injuries.
