An $8.8 million plan has been unveiled to help alleviate the often-congested Route 1 corridor in College Park near the University of Maryland campus, the Diamondback reports.
The four-lane highway often backs up in numerous stretches between the campus and the Capital Beltway. The plan would include renovations to more than 2 miles of Baltimore Avenue.
The Diamondback says that the renovations would impact the portion of Route 1 between College Avenue and Greenbelt Road/Route 193. The work would then later extend all the way up to the Beltway.
