College Park, Md. reportedly introduces measure that would allow non-citizens to vote
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (ABC7) —
As the immigration debate heats up, leaders in College Park are weighing the decision to give undocumented immigrants voting rights.
The Baltimore Sun reports if passed, the measure would allow non-citizens the ability to vote for mayor and city council.
They would not be able to vote in presidential or congressional elections.
A number of other Maryland cities already allow non-citizens to vote. City council plans to take up the issue on Tuesday.
