Senator Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa) asked the Smithsonian Inspector General for Secretary G. Wayne Clough's travel documents in a letter released on Monday, according to the Washington Post.

Grassley said "I am now concerned that Secretary Clough has incurred many of the same type of questionable travel expenses as his predecessor and his promised changes at the Smithsonian may have been little more than lip service," according to the Washington Post.

Grassley's concerns arose after an article on the Web site Junketsleuth.com stated he took 59 trips over 191 days between July 2008 and July 2011. Outside donors had paid the cost of $112,000.

Officials received the letter and said all but five Clough trips were paid for by non-federal funds, the Post report.
