More than 40 cars were vandalized and had items stolen from them in a Centreville neighborhood early Thursday morning, officials say.

Fairfax County Police say that at least 44 cars had their passenger-side windows smashed in between 1 and 5 a.m. Thursday. Items taken from the cars include GPS units, iPods, money and sunglasses.

The thefts all took place in a pair of neighborhoods near I-66 and Lee Highway. Cars that were vandalized were located on residential streets including Bent Tree Circle, Little Rocky Run Circle, Summer Tree Road, Glade Spring Drive and Cider Barrel Circle.

No suspects have been identified in the crimes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers or Fairfax County Police.
