Animal Control has placed 20 of the cats rescued from the Cool Cats Rescue Center in Severna Park up for adoption.
The rescue center, which was located in at 546 Benfield Road in Md., was shut down September 21 due to deplorable conditions for the cats. Sixty-seven cats were rescued and found to be in various medical conditions. Two dead cats were also recovered.
The cats from the hoarding case can be adopted by Anne Arundel County residents for as little as $16. They have already been spayed / neutered, Felv / Fiv tested, dewormed, treated for ear mites, given flea preventative, vaccinated against rabies, received the FRCP vaccine and licensed, animal control said in a press release.
Adopters should be aware that the cats from the hoarding situation have a variety of medical statuses, but that they will recover faster in a home environment rather than in the shelter.
Potential adopters can view the available animals by visiting the shelter in person or by visiting the Animal Control Facebook page or the County website.
