Capitol Heights house fire kills dog

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WJLA) - A fire at a house in Prince George's county displaced a family of four and killed a dog Tuesday morning.

Firefighters said the fire began in the basement of the home and then spread to the first floor. All four family members were able to escape the home unharmed, but the family's dog did not survive.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze and have since cleared the scene.
