Cathy Lanier briefed by FBI about Boston Marathon bombings
Although her department has taken no extra precautions regarding crowd control in light of last month’s Boston Marathon bombings, D.C. police chief Cathy Lanier said Tuesday she has been briefed by the FBI as more of a courtesy than anything else.
“I can’t comment on the details of the meeting (but) I’m sure all the major cities are feeling the same after Boston,” Lanier told Bruce DePuyt during Tuesday's edition of Newstalk on NewsChannel 8.
She added she was encouraged by a slight uptick in people reporting suspicious behavior since the bombings.
“That’s really what we need – to keep that awareness up.”
