FREDERICK, Md. (AP) - A 29-year-old man has been charged with assault and other offenses after his girlfriend was beaten and held in an apartment against her will.
Twenty-nine-year-old Brandon Lee Knill is being held on $75,000 bail.
According to charging documents, on Saturday night, Knill's girlfriend went to his apartment. She told police Knill had lost his job and the two argued.
The court documents say the girlfriend left, but Knill pushed her to the ground, choked her and slammed her head against the sidewalk. According to the documents, Knill dragged her back into the apartment and held her down on the sofa for hours.
The documents say the woman escaped after Knill fell asleep.
