Boat explosion injures three at Baltimore Yacht Club

ESSEX, Md. (AP) - Fire officials say three people were burned after a boat exploded at the Baltimore Yacht Club in Essex.

Baltimore County fire officials say the victims were aboard the powerboat at the time of the explosion on Saturday, which sent them flying into the water. One man suffered serious burns, and two women had minor burns. They were taken to the burn center at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the boat to explode. Hazmat crews were also sent to the scene. Firefighters extinguished the flames from fire boats.
