Bicyclist hit by car in Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County, Md. (WJLA) - A driver in Anne Arundel County became distracted by other passengers in the car and struck a cyclist on Saturday.

It happened at 10:30 a.m. on Solomons Island Road, just north of Southern High School when the distracted driver of a 1999 Chevrolet veered onto the shoulder of the road and stuck the biker, Anne Arundel Police said.{ }

The victim came off the bicycle and struck a nearby guardrail.{ } The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He's expected to be released Sunday.
