Three people were injured Thursday morning in a crash that closed the inner loop of the Beltway in Prince George's County, officials say.
The crash happened near the exit for Ritchie Marlboro Road just before 9 a.m., which caused the lanes to close entirely. At least one lane was allowed to pass a short time later.
The driver of a box truck involved in the crash had to be removed by first responders. He's currently being treated for undisclosed injuries at the scene, Prince George's County Fire spokesman Mark Brady said on Twitter.
It's the second crash to close the inner loop on Thursday morning alone. A crash involving a two motorcycles and a car just after midnight killed one person and shut the highway down near the Branch Avenue exit.
