(WJLA) - Anne Arundel County police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body at the Bay Hills Golf Club in Arnold, Md.
Diana Kapnistos Hester's body was discovered by a man walking his dog just before 7:20 a.m. near the 15th hole of the golf course, which is also a popular sledding hill in the winter.
Hours before her body was discovered, people gathered on the hill to sled and snowboard.
"People were snowboarding until about 11," says Caroline Buchleitner.
"Last night there were tons of teens, you know, just having fun sledding," says one teenager.
They say Hester was, for at least a moment, a part of the fun.
"She just came up and she was just saying 'Hi, how are you guys?'" says Delaney, another teenager. "She went down the hill."
But what happened after that remains a mystery. According to sources and friends, Hester, 49, lived in a townhouse about a half mile from the sledding hill.
"We feel horrible," says a neighbor. "It was our neighbor, it was our friend, just a good person."
Though Hester's body was found shoeless with some of her clothes unfastened, police saw no signs of trauma or foul play.
"We're not ruling anything out at this point," says Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy.
