LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA. (WJLA) - The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigating a vehicle crash that apparently led to a shooting Tuesday night in Sterling, Va.
Loudoun County deputies report they responded to the 60 block of Sugarland Run Drive at around 7 p.m. for a report of a property-damage vehicle crash.
Deputies said it appeared as though an argument or "traffic altercation" between two vehicles led to one of the cars crashing into property. The two cars were reportedly driven by an adult male and an adult female, known to each other.
Deputies said they determined that, following the crash, the adult male reportedly exited his car, brandishing a gun, and attempted to take his own life by shooting himself.
The man was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital from the scene, where deputies say he is being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
