(WJLA) - The Kennedy Center Honors are awarding a dancer-turned-actress, along with four musicians: Billy Joel, Opera diva Martina Arroya, Jazz master Herbie Hancock, rock icon Carlos Santana, and the legendary Shirley McLaine.
The show also has a new emcee – Glenn Close, who replaced Caroline Kennedy, the recently appointed ambassador to Japan.
On the red carpet, actress Kathy Bathes told us she had been hiding from her friend Shirley McLaine all weekend, so that she could keep her tribute to her friend a surprise.
You’ll see the results on December 29th.
Meanwhile at the movies, what better week to win the box office for Disney’s “Frozen?” The musical about the ice queen raked in $32 million in cold cash, just ahead of the season’s heavy duty hit – The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
