BETHESDA, Md. (WJLA) - There's never a dull moment at Kidville, and owner Anjali Varma likes it that way.
"It's hard to be upset or not like your work when you're around great kids all the time," she said.
Varma says she wants her Bethesda business, Kidville, to be a one-stop-shop for busy parents. She spent eight years in corporate America, but when she started a family of her own, she wanted more flexibility and made the leap to owning her own business.
"The goal is to have everything under one roof," Varma said. "The haircuts, the retail, a ton of different types of classes and camps."
But Varma hasn't stopped with just her store. While raising her two sons, ages four and six, plus running Kidville, Varma also runs her own blog and Youtube channel, both called "The Modern Mompreneur." There are even mompreneur meet-ups, where moms can get together in person, not just on social media.
"I started developing content that was speaking to that mom-entrepreneur audience because I think we could all use help in that area," she said.
She admits juggling it all can be hard, but Varma has some rules to help herself achieve that elusive work-life balance.
"I don't know if there's a secret answer, but I know for me it really helps to schedule things," she said. "So scheduling times with my kids and my husband where their electronic devices are nowhere around."
