Amtrak train with 143 passengers aboard collides with tractor trailer in Va.
QUANTICO, Va. (ABC7) —
An Amtrak train collided with a tractor trailer Tuesday morning in Quantico, Virginia leading to a suspension of service, according to Amtrak officials.
There were no injuries to passengers or employees. Stafford County Fire and Rescue officials say the driver of the truck denied injury.
There were 143 passengers on the train, according to an Amtrak spokesperson. The passengers were transferred to buses or other Amtrak trains.
The train and truck collided on the tracks approximately six miles south of an Amtrak station in Quantico.
Amtrak officials report service on Northeast Regional Train 84 has been suspended due to the accident.
Train 84 travels daily from Norfolk, Virginia to New York City.
