Two men were removed from a flight bound for Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Dallas on Wednesday due to security concerns.
News reports state that American Airlines Flight 1316 from Dallas to Reagan was canceled after a passenger on board observed something that appeared suspicious to them.
American Airlines Spokesperson Ed Martelle confirms that there were "some security concerns" with flight 1316. The concerns surfaced before the plane left the gate.
All 140 passengers were taken off of the MD-80 along with their bags and rescreened. The flight has been canceled but American Airlines has been able to accommodate all the affected passengers and has rebooked them on other flights which will get everyone into DCA today.
The passengers de-planed and underwent extra security screening, but officials say nothing threatening had been found.
The two passengers removed were released and allowed to rebook their flights.
