Police: Man who ran over his friend with an SUV after an argument has turned himself in

(WJLA) - An altercation in a Laurel residence spilled outside and turned deadly as one man killed another man by hitting him with an SUV and then fled the scene with a woman.

At about 9:48 p.m. Friday, Laurel Police found Matthew Cavin, 24, lying beneath a vehicle in the parking lot at 7633 South Arbory Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses tell police the dispute between Cavin and Antione Cauley, 27, started inside the residence and moved outside and that Cauley struck Cavin with the front of an SUV.

Cauley turned himself in to authorities at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. He is being charged with first-degree murder.
