(WJLA) - Alexandria City residents will see higher property taxes and increases in other fees under the new fiscal 2015 budget passed by the Alexandria City Council Thursday night.
The tax bill for the average homeowner will increase by $215 with the new half-cent hike in the tax rate, according to the Washington Post. The rate increases from $1.038 to $1.043 per $100 of assessed value.
Property taxes aren't the only area where residents will see an increase; commercial electricity tax rates, commercial water taxes, residential refuse collections fees and weekend parking garage fees will also go up
