Alex Twine, Maryland football player, charged with disorderly conduct

(AP/ABC7) --{} A University of Maryland football player was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on Friday after he was found shouting and punching cars near campus.

University of Maryland Police say that freshman linebacker Alex Twine was spotted early Friday morning at a shopping center near campus behaving erratically and yelling.

Responding officers told Twine to stop, and when he fled, police chased and caught him. There were no reports of damage to any cars, police say.

Twine, of Gaithersburg, will also be disciplined internally by the team, a university spokesperson says.
