(WJLA) - Police say a Good Samaritan injured in a brawl at an Adams Morgan nightclub in late August has died of his injuries.
Police say Rockwell John Flint, 45, died Friday at a hospital where he was taken after the Aug. 30 brawl. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner says Flint died of multiple blunt impact injuries and the manner of death was homicide.
The fight broke out in the Rendezvous Lounge on 18th Street Northwest just before 2 a.m. Sources tell ABC7 that a man hit a customer over the head with a drinking glass and then picked up a bar stool and started waving it around.
They also say the customers grabbed him and were trying to escort him outside, but somewhere in the struggle, something went horribly wrong.
Flint was one of two men who were injured when they tumbled down a staircase inside the bar. He suffered a fractured neck, fractured skull and brain hemorrhaging. A man was charged in the incident.
The bar was ordered closed for four days.
A reward of up to $25,000 is offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
