WASHINGTON (WJLA) - An activist who posted a video of himself loading a gun in D.C.'s Freedom Plaza was denied bond on Monday.
Adam Kokesh of Herndon, Va., appeared Monday in D.C. Superior Court and was ordered held without bond. He is charged with one count of openly carrying the weapon in violation of D.C. law.
He faces up to five years if convicted.
Court documents allege that on July 4, he went to the city's Freedom Plaza and publicly loaded four rounds of ammunition into the weapon. A video of him loading the gun posted on YouTube lists "Adam Kokesh" as the video's source.
