A cloudy Saturday with a chance for rain and storms is on the way
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
An approaching cold front increases our chance for showers and thunderstorms today. A few morning showers continue across southeast MD. The best chance for some additional showers and thunderstorms comes later this afternoon. Western suburbs could see a pop up shower or t-storm after 2 PM. The chance for the metro looks a little later in the evening. Keep an eye to the sky if you do have outdoor activities today or if you are attending the Montgomery County Fair. Be sure to keep the umbrella on hand this afternoon/evening. There will be periods of dry weather, so today won't be a wash out.
As the cold front moves through tonight, less humid and drier conditions move in. Sunday looks to be a nice day with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s.
The early half of the week is relatively quiet with highs in the lower 80s. These temperatures are at or below average for this time of year. On Tuesday morning a disturbance moves through the mid-levels of the atmosphere. This could trigger a shower Tuesday morning through midday. However, heavy rain is not expected. By Wednesday, an area of high pressure builds in and keeps us sunny until Thursday night. The next chance for rain arrives overnight Thursday and into Friday.
