Montgomery County Police have identified 17 participants in a "flash mob" robbery that struck a 7-Eleven in Germantown about two weeks ago.
The identifications were assisted in part by surveillance video that was posted to YouTube to solicit public assistance.
On Aug. 13 just before 2 a.m., 25 suspects simultaneously entered the 7-Eleven at 13001 Wisteria Drive and stole snacks, drinks and other items from the store. They remained in the store for a bout one minute and then left as a group.
Several of the suspects covered their faces during the robbery.
Of the 18 people identified, 14 are juveniles and three are adults. One person who entered the store at the time of the robbery but was not part of the group will not be charged. Those identified will be charged with theft under $1,000, conspiracy to commit theft and disorderly conduct.
Police are still working to identify the remaining suspects.
