'Train vs. Pedestrian' accident suspends MARC service

According to Prince George's County Fire and EMS, an incident occurred at Olive St. and S St. in Capitol Heights around 3 p.m. Friday for what a Fire PIO describes as a "train vs. pedestrian accident."

The pedestrian is confirmed to have died as a result.

MTA Spokesperson Paulette Austrich said that the MARC Penn Line Train 424 was involved in this incident, as it traveled north towards Baltimore. She described this as a "trespasser strike."

Service between D.C. and Baltimore is currently suspended due to police activity.
