ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WJLA) - You could say a couple of things about this particular bank robber - like he's consistent and successful. The same TD Bank on Richmond Highway in Alexandria has now been hit five times by the same person.
"You generally go back to where you're comfortable ...obviously he's comfortable at this branch," said Alexandria resident Kevin Powers.
The latest incident took place Monday morning. The 'Beacon Hill Bandit,' as he is called, came dressed in a yellow work vest and pants. FBI agents say he threatened the teller and casually walked out with the cash.
In the past, he has worn outlandish costumes and hats. Then after demanding money and sometimes implying that he had a weapon, he would then flee each time in the direction of a restaurant on Route 1.
"It is consistent and he's persistent, and he's successful on five occasions," said FBI Supervisory Special Agent Jacqueline Maguir. "He's wearing interesting unusual clothing to rob a bank as well...we hope that someone recognizes either his face or outfits."
The first robbery took place in 2010, but the last three occurred between March 2013 and July 2013. Now, authorities worry that he is getting more dangerous.
"I don't know why they didn't get this guy, there are so many cameras over there everywhere," says bank customer Jose Monacho,
Authorities have only a vague description caught on surveillance cameras: a 6-foot-tall black man with a medium build. He also may be driving a white, four-door Hyundai.
