A tentative agreement has been reached between Washington Hospital Center and National Nurses United, bringing the hospital's nursing staff under contract for the first time since last April.

Nurses will vote on the tentative agreement on Friday and Saturday. No details will be shared with the public until after the ratification vote.

"We are very pleased to have a tentative agreement that represents the hard work and commitment of both sides for a fair contract that values our nurses' commitment to patients and their care," said Washington Hospital Center President John Sullivan.

National Nurses United represents almost 1,700 nurses. They have canceled an informational picket scheduled for Friday.
