A man with muscular dystrophy finished the Chicago Marathon early Monday morning, crossing the finish line more than 16 hours after the race began Sunday morning.
Thirty-seven-year-old Maickel Melamed of Venezuela finished the 26.2 mile course at 1:30 a.m. CST, according to a report from WLS-TV in Chicago. Melamid, who has also run marathons in New York and Berlin, crossed the finish line with a time of 16 hours, 47 minutes.
"If you dream it ,make it happen. Your life is the most beautiful thing that can happen to you. So, make the best of it," he said.
