Giant Food has issued a voluntary recall of Dr. Praeger's California veggie burgers due to a possible lysteria contamination in the product, according to a company release.

The recall includes Dr. Praeger's California Veggie Burger, 10 oz., UPC 8086800010, with best by dates of 1/27/18, 2/3/18, 2/9/18, 3/8/18, 3/23/18 and 4/13/18, the release states.

Giant says there have been no reports of illnesses so far. Food that is consumed containing listeria can cause listeriosis, a potentially fatal disease, the release adds.

Customers who bought the veggie burgers should throw away any unused burgers and bring their receipt to a Giant store for a full refund.

Giant adds customers searching for more information on the recall can call Dr. Praeger's at 1-877-772-3437. Additionally, calls can be made to Giant Food Customer Service at 1-888-469-4426 between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
