Free rides for squats on Moscow subway
Officials in Moscow are giving commuters an incentive to stay in shape: free rides on the Russian capital's subway system.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, a special ticket kiosk in Russian subway systems are offering free rides to anyone who does 30 squats on their way in. The exercise is counted by a camera in the machine, and since each trip on the subway costs 30 rubles, each squat is worth one ruble.
The program is designed to encourage physical fitness and also ramp up excitement for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi.
