Frederick Rescue Mission offers free flu shots

(WJLA) - Over 100 people received free flu shots Saturday during an event at the Frederick Rescue Mission.

The Frederick News-Post reports the Frederick Rescue Mission offered the shots from noon to 1:30 p.m. The shots were offered as a way to provide preventive care to the city's low-income and homeless residents.

The vaccinations were paid for through Thomas' English Muffins' parent company, Bimbo Bakeries USA.

Teri Kwiatek, the rescue mission's community outreach coordinator, says they would like to make the flu shots an annual offering.
