D.C. ranked fittest city in the nation
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WJLA) - Washington, D.C. was recently ranked the fittest city in the nation on the American Fitness Index, a report by the American College of Sports Medicine.
The report uses factors such as a city's "walkability" and how many people use public transportation, as well as personal health indicators and community and environmental indicators.
D.C. received a score of 77.3 out of a possible 100 points.
Rounding out the top five, falling just below D.C. on the list, were Minneapolis-St. Paul, Portland, Denver and San Francisco.
At the bottom of the top 50 cities were Memphis, Louisville and Oklahoma City.
