Tippling champagne may not just be good for celebrations - it may also improve your memory.

According to a report published in the medical journal Antioxidants & Redox Signaling, a test run by scientists on lab rats shows that they performed twice as well on maze tests after drinking a bit of champagne every week for six weeks.

Men's Health says that the reason behind champagne potentially being good for memory is that champagne contains the same compounds in red wine that have been proven to reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease.

The magazine says, though, to never go overboard. The scientists behind the study say that it takes at least a year of drinking a couple of glasses of the bubbly every week to see any benefits.
