(WJLA) - There are plenty of things that doctors and health experts recommend that women do and not do while they're pregnant.
One of those thing to do, new research indicates, is work on your fitness.
Researchers at the University of Montreal undertook a study that compared two groups of pregnant women - one who exercised for two hours per week while with child and one that exercised for just 10 minutes.
According to ABC News, the study found that brain activity in the babies after they were born showed that the ones who came from moms who worked out matured more rapidly than those who didn't as much.
"It's not a behavioral test or neuropsychologic test, it's really specifically the brain that we were looking at," researcher Élise Labonté-LeMoyne told ABC News.
