      NIST seeks new standards in mobile security

      Before using government computers, many federal employees and contractors need to swipe a Personal Identification Verification card. PIV cards employ biometric data and encryption to identify the cardholder and establish a secure connection.

      But PIV cards don't always work on mobile devices.

      Donna Dodson, chief of the computer security division at NIST, discussed the agency's next step with Government Matters.
