Despite an end to the government shutdown being in sight Wednesday, potential federal contractors continue to find themselves stifled by an inability to submit their proposals.
Federal News Radio reports that a number of companies seeking contracts with the government cannot currently respond to requests for proposals while the shutdown continues.
Agencies have told companies that RFPs are currently suspended until further notice.
"What they face now is a holding pattern," Trey Hodgkins, a vice president for an area industry association, told Federal News Radio. "The investments they made are not delivering on the earnings. For some companies it could represent a lost opportunity."
Wednesday marked day 16 of the government shutdown.
