President Obama made an impromptu appearance in the White House briefing room last week and offered new enrollment figures for HealthCare.gov.
"The first open enrollment period under this new law ended a little over two weeks ago, and as more data comes in, we now know that the number of Americans who have signed up for private insurance in the marketplaces has grown to eight million people," Obama said.
The new total beats initial projections by one million people. Obama also said 35-percent of enrollees are under the age of thirty-five.
