Thousands of Department of Homeland Security employees - both past and present - may have had personal information compromised after finding a breach in a background investigation system, Federal News Radio reports.
Employees who worked at the agency's headquarters, for Customs and Border Protection and ICE over the past four years are among those impacted, officials told employees.
Information compromised may include names, Social Security numbers and birthdates. DHS officials told Federal News Radio that none of the information was lost or stolen.
